the sonics and the hives!

I had been looking forward to seeing The Sonics for months. I guess the thing about aging musicians is they sometimes prefer to be remembered the way they were. I have to respect that, so in lieu of featuring our heroes for the LWMB this week, I featured a group who not only adore The Sonics, but have used their grinding hits of yesteryear as inspiration for spearheading the garage rock revival. The Hives. How awesome is it that they flew to NYC for one-night only, just to see this show. Lucky me, I got to dance, drink and take some photos of the uber tall and handsome swedes.
