Gallows, This Is Hell @ MHOW + Apache Beat, Freshkills @ Glasslands
February 8, 2008

all of these photos were taken the night before i got on a 6:30am flight to LAX, for what was a much needed vacation.
we start the evening off right with some heavy shit.
let me preface with a note on the village voice review of this show, please refer to the second comment down by a guy named “rich rude texas”, i think he hits the nail on the head. the show was quite visceral, and yes, even bad hardcore shows can be life affirming. i caught GALLOWS and THIS IS HELL at what was formerly northsix, now MHOW. an unlikely setting. i figured nobody i know in williamsburg would go to this show. i was mostly right, except for kelly, who is amazing, and who i would spend the next week with in LA. fun times. i also met a really nice girl named victoria, who’s in with some underground hardcore shows in queens. we’re talking the real deal here people, church basements and parking lots. that’s how it should be.
i was still excited about the fresh blood, and the kick to the head i got in the pit when frank carter nearly beat the shit out of some douche. exciting! then i decided to class it up a little, and head over to the infamous glasslands, where i got a great group photo of APACHE BEAT, and some snaps of our darling FRESHKILLS.

I think that ‘GALLOWS’ Orchestra of Wolves is one of the greatest albums I’ve ever heard. These Pics are as exciting as they sound.
