Made it through another CMJ week! One of the fun shows I went to was at the somewhat exclusive venue in the basement of Milk Studios (New York). I recall shooting the first official show there in 2007 with model Jamie Burke‘s band (then called Bloody Social). Since then, the venue has become a chic hangout for models and fashion photography’s élite rock and rollers. A basement in the truest sense, the space is dank and secluded deep in the bowels of the massive photo studio-cum-institution on West 14th Street. Low hanging conduits and the soft glow of neon create an atmosphere suitable for sipping on free booze and watching beautiful people with guitars. On this particular evening I saw The Netherlands, Our Mountain and At War with the 60′s.
