JEFF The Brotherhood at Death By Audio, NYC 2/23/10
February 26, 2010
One of my all-time favorite new bands, JEFF The Brotherhood, played at Death By Audio on Tuesday. They followed sets by Stupid Party and Screaming Females. This was undoubtedly the best JEFF performance I’ve seen yet! To start, JTB’s Jake took out large bundles of beads (perhaps from their travels to Mardi Gras?) and threw them into the audience. That wasn’t the only thing flying around in the crowd. There were also two giant inflatable aliens being tossed around, as well as crowd surfers. Sweaty limbs flying were everywhere! Unfortunately, I think things got a little out of hand when I saw this one chick leaving the mosh pit with the back of her skull cracked open…serious carnage! Otherwise she seemed to be enjoying herself; I hope she’s alright! These guys have the best songs to dance and rock out to, and everyone in the crowd was having a blast. The show was sponsored by The Tripwire, and if you click on that link you can see a few live videos from Tuesday night’s show. See if you can spot me in the front row with my camera!
